"My maternity photo shoot with Zita was a gift from my husband. I have never really liked pictures of myself and always shied away from the camera. This photo shoot was such a fun experience! Having my hair and makeup done (which I never do) was a pampered plus. Zita had a vision all ready for my shoot but also asked what I had envisioned for my shoot. During the shoot she kept things light and fun and made me feel comfortable.

ABOUT ZITA
Zita Makkos is an internationally recognized Portrait Master Associate photographer based in Calaveras and Amador County, California. She specializes in magazine-style portraits, creating stunning imagery for beauty, families, boudoir, headshots, and pets.
With a career spanning over two decades, Zita has photographed people across Hungary, Australia, and, since 2015, Northern California. Her work has continually evolved, earning her the title of Best of Calaveras Professional Photographer & Studio in 2020.
In September 2023, she expanded her home-based studio to a beautiful, welcoming new space at 71 Main Street in Sutter Creek, Amador County.
This larger studio allows her to serve clients from Amador, San Joaquin, and Sacramento counties—welcoming those who wish to turn their portrait session into a special day in the charming town of Sutter Creek.
Beyond individual portraits, Zita also offers multi-generational sessions and unique event experiences, including birthday spa parties and makeover parties for girls ages 8+ —creating memories as magical as the portraits themselves.
